Trail Conditions will be reported as they become available.
I tilled and chipped away at the ski trails today. At best they are skiable with some really good sections with scattered bare spots and some shaved ice areas with a skiable track in almost all trails except the the Green Trail which I didn’t do because of the large bare area. Definitely a B-Ski trail condition Tilling the hills down added to a safer ski. With little or no snow in the forecast, this may be the last hurrah to our ski season. DICK WEIDMAN
Whitefish Dunes State Park has two winter trails for hikers and snowshoers. The Black Trail begins near the picnic shelter and tracks to the north across Schauer Rd towards Cave Point County Park. There are 1.2 mile, 2.1 mile loops.
On the west end of the park, originating from the Red Pine parking lot, is a new 1.2 mile snowshoe or hiking trail. Dogs on leashes are welcome. The trail winds down to Whitefish Bay Creek and the back through the towering red pines. A very scenic trail, especially with the snow covered firs.
The other park trails are groomed for classic cross country skiing.
